Vitamin D deficiency linked to higher death risk


A new study was done by a researcher team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York led by Dr. Dr. Michal L. Melamed, found that people with vitamin D deficiency have higher risk of death, cancer and heart disease.

Dr. Michal L. Melamed and his colleagues analyzed vitamin D level in over 13,331 people, after few years of tracking that level, they found that people with low level (less than 17.8 nanograms per milliliter) had a 26 percent increased rate of death from any cause.  The researchers said that approximately 41 percent of U.S. men and 53 percent of U.S. women have levels lower than 28 nanograms per milliliter, where the optimum vitamin level should be 30 nanograms per milliliter or higher.



You can obtain Vitamin D from different natural source such as sun light, Salmon, Tuna fish, Sardines, Liver, and beet.
