A mom gives birth to 8 babies

team-helping-deliver-octuplets-in-californiaA woman in California gave  birth to 8 healthy babies, the world’s second live-born set of octuplets.

Over 46 team members were in the scene helping to deliver the babies, and after only 5 minutes the octuplets were out crying.

The mother gave birth to six boys and two girls weighing between 1.8 pounds and 3.4 pounds, doctors at Kaiser Permanante hospital told The Associated Press.

“It’s a surprise,” Dr. Karen Maples said. “Eight newborns are in stable condition and they’re doing quite well.”

Astronauts at risk of breaking their bone because they lose its strength fast

astronauts-lose-their-bone-strengthA recent study showed that Astronauts who spend months in International Space Station are at risk of losing their bone strength faster than than previously thought, and have a higher risk of breaking their hips later in life.

The study included 13 space station astronauts who spent months in Space.

The study found that that their bone strength dipped by at least 14 percent on the average during their half-year stays aboard the orbiting laboratory.

Meet Turritopsis Nutricula, the only immortal jellyfish on planet earth. Its only 5mm long and spreading around the world really fast because they don’t die.

Dr Maria Miglietta of the Smithsonian Tropical Marine Institute said: “We are looking at a worldwide silent invasion.”
