A small firm with the support of the U.S Ministry of Defense produced substance like gel that turns to solid instantly on impact.
The substance is called d3O and locks immediately into a solidified form when it is hit at high impact.
“When moved slowly, the molecules will slip past each other, but in a high-energy impact they will snag and lock together, becoming solid,” said Richard Palmer, who invented the gel. “In doing so they absorb energy.” Telegraph reported today
This shock-absorbing gel will be fitted inside the soldier’s helmet or clothes, and when a bullet enters the helmet of example, the gel would turn to solid state immediately, when the pressure has gone the gel returns to its normal flexible state.
The company called this new invention or substance as “intelligent molecules” that absorbs whole a lot of energy in a less than a blink of an eye.
