Nop I am not joking, travellers in the United State now have to go through a whole body scanner at the airport security that litterly reveals their underwear.
The new technology was developed by New York based L3 Communications, and definitely raised the question of people’s privacy after it was revealed that underwear is visible in the scans.

The Transportation and Security Administration has placed the scanners in airports in Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Miami, San Fransisco, Tulsa, Okla and Albuquerque, in a pilot program.
One of the advantages of the new system according to the spokesman for the TSA, it will be easier for people with hip or knee replacements, as they are currently patted down if their prosthetic sets off a security alarm.
