Almost 90% of people get headache every once and a while, and its very common among young men and women. There are many factors that trigger headache or sever headache for some people, such as environment, food, daily life issues, stress etc. But I found this list to be very interesting because these factors are less known among the people.
Warm Temperature: Meteorological factors influence several biological functions in our body. Basically anything related to the environment such as humidity, temperature and geomagnetic activity in particular cause headache. According to recent study, researchers found a 7.5% increase in headache risk for every 9 degrees Fahrenheit. So, you need to drink plenty of water during a summer hot day to reduce your body temperature and avoid headache.
Strong Scents: can you really believe it? Strong smells even nice ones can cause headache for many people. The reason according to scientists is not clear yet, but it seems to trigger or stimulates the nervous system. The most common culprits are paint, dust, perfume, and certain types of flowers.
Uncomfortable posture: Some poor postures especially if you are setting on you work desk puts a pressure on your neck and head which cause headache. Poor postures include staring at your monitor that is too low or too high, hunching your shoulders, and using a chair with no lower-back support. If you get frequent headache at work, then try to avoid all the mentioned above poor postures.
Aged Cheese: What? Why old cheese would cause headache? Good question I am glad you asked. According to WebMD one of the most common migraine triggers is aged cheese, Cheese has something called tyramine. Tyramine is a compound known as an amine found in many foods, produced from the natural breakdown of the amino acid, tyrasine. Tyramine can cause blood vessels to dilate, and this may be what starts the migraine chain-reaction in some people. So the longer a food ages, the more tyramine it contains. These are some of the most common cheese that contains the substance tyramine, mozzarella, parmesan, Swiss, feta, cheddar and brie.
Processed meats, such as cold cuts most often have tyramine and food additives such as nitrates or nitrites. These additives usually increase the blood flow to the brain in some people and cause headache.
