For the first time after losing his hand in a car accident, Pierpaolo Petruzziello gets his sensation back after 5 years of intensive research.
Group of European scientists successfully connected a robotic hand to an amputee, allowing him to feel sensations in the artificial limb and control it with his thoughts.
It took Petruzziello few days only to master his movements. “It felt almost the same as a real hand. They stimulated me a lot, even with needles … you can’t imagine what they did to me”. He said.

The wonder of science. This is such a great step forward for amputees. Maybe it won’t be long before scientists come up with a non robotic-like limb but something that will look just more natural and human-like.
