Cat In Iowa tested positive for the H1N1 virus


The CDC and Washington post reported today that a 13 year-old cat in Iowa tested positive for the H1N1 flu virus. The cat owner had flu like symptoms but actually didn’t get the flu, but his cat caught it. Fortunately, the cat recovered completely, and health official said that there is no evidence that the cat passed the flu to anyone.

Are pets safe? The the American Veterinary Medical Association said NO. Therefor, pet owners should pay close attention to the health of their pets and make sure to hospitalise them as soon as they show a sign of sickness.
