Latest studies from the United Kingdom reveal that there may be a relation between the length of a person’s fingers and the possibility of him getting prostate cancer. Really? Don’t freak out, its just a theory.
According to the British researchers, if the index finger is longer than the ring finger, the person has 33 percent less chances of being affected by prostate cancer. And vice versa; that is, those whose ring finger is longer than the index finger have more chances of getting a prostate cancer. Unbelievable some may call it, bizarre too. But this is what the researchers claim. A Korean study reveals just the same.
The theory behind this is just that; a theory, for the moment. Many know already that men with higher testosterone levels have a higher risk of getting prostate cancer. So, the theory states that those who have a longer ring finger, when they were developing foetuses, were exposed to more amounts of testosterone levels. It is common knowledge that even women have a certain level of testosterone.
Joining all the above statements together, there seems to be a link between the length of the ring finger and the risks of getting prostate cancer and this is exactly what the researchers claim.
Those with a longer ring finger have nothing to worry about though because as mentioned, it is simply a theory, a hypothesis. Another, more practical reason for people to not get freaked out is that whatever our finger length is, it is natural. One can basically do zilch about it now.
However, going through tests as recommended, having knowledge about prostate cancer screening and being more careful if you have a family history of prostate cancer, you should be fine.
