U.N Advice Countries To Be Ready For Disasters


According to the United Nations, the United States was not prepared for Hurricane Katrina that put 80% of New Orleans under water. The UN also said, even developed countries such as the United States are not really ready for major disasters, and they should implement much better plans to protect its citizen.

Successful emergency preparedness in Cuba and Bangladesh minimized the loss of thousands of citizens caused by hurricanes, waterfalls, floods and weather changes.

Margareta Wahlstrom, head of the U.N. International Strategy for Disaster Reduction said that we are going to see more and more of these disasters with the increase of global warming, and we should be ready anytime for any un-expected events.
