Have you ever noticed someone asleep and his/her eyes moving fast in all directions? This is whats called “Rapid Eye Movement” or REM, during that period your body is temporarily paralyzed and does not respond to sensory inputs. REM begins about an hour after you sleep and occurs up to five times a night.

While you are asleep, the occurrence of the REM enhance your creativity by helping the brain make new and useful associations between unrelated ideas.

‘We found that – for creative problems that you’ve already been working on – the passage of time is enough to find solutions.

‘However, for new problems, only REM sleep enhances creativity.’ Dr Sara Mednick said. Dailymail reprots

So if you have a problem at work, school or home, the best way to find a solution is just to sleep on it, because your brain will have better performance when you wake up.
