His name is Sultan Kosen, and entered the the Guinness Book of World Records after he received his official measurement of 8 feet, 1 inch tall in September 21, 2009. His pituitary gland, damaged by the tumor, was producing too much growth hormone and Mr Kösen became taller and taller. When other children were little more than 4ft, he was already well over 6ft tall.
