The World’s Largest Machines Ever Built – You Won’t Believe Your Eyes


Telescope Mover:

This machine known as the High Plains Lifter and Jack of Diamonds has 24 wheels. It weigh around 90 tons, and consumes 90-gal-per-minute. The telescope mover was built to move 230-ton telescopes from one place to another.

The LeTourneau’s massive bucket:

This monster machine has four huge wheels and 2300-hp engine. The bucket can carry over 75 tons of stuff in one single bite, and the whole machine weighs around 293 tons. I don’t think its a good idea to put your head under that soft kind machine.

Boeing Dreamlifter cargo loader:

This machine is the largest aircraft loader ever built, PERIOD. The Boeing deramlifter is built specifically to load cargo that can reach up to 68 tons to Boeing aircraft.

A giant mechanical spider:

Giant mechanical spider, part of a piece of free theater by French company La Machine entitled “Les Mecaniques Servants”, walks along the waterfront in Liverpool, England on September 5, 2008. The 37-ton spider which stands at 50 feet (15 meters) tall was in Liverpool as part of the city’s European capital of culture celebrations.

The Giant Bulldozer functions as office space for the United Equipment Company. The 22′ tall structure was built in 1977. The company’s president was inspired to have it built after seeing a giant bulldozer on top of a factory in Japan.
