A Massive solar tornado blew our minds when Xing Li, an astronomer at Aberystwyth University in Wales, captured on video and images one of the biggest yet ever seen solar tornado on the sun’s surface. According to Li, the solar tornado is capable of swallowing a hundred Earths. The giant twister as you will see in the video below, is the first to be filmed in high-resolution at multiple wavelengths.

“The structure is huge … and the velocity of the material is several tens to hundreds of thousands of kilometers per hour,” … “It is a real gem of an event to fire the imagination—and it is a good way to study magnetic structures in the sun’s atmosphere.” said Xing Li.
Here are the videos of the world’s first high resolution solar tornado ever seen.
