It takes the robot Tilted Twister an average of 4.5 minutes to solve Rubik’s cube fully automatically. Tilted Twister has an ultrasonic sensor that detects the presence of the scrambled cube and then the light sensor will start reading the colors on the four faces of the cube. The robot then calculates a solution and executes the moves by turning tilting and twisting the cube. You have to see it to believe it, the owner of the robot made a video showing Tilted Twister solving the cube without the need of connecting the robot to a PC.
Hans Andersson from Sweden who designed and programmed the robot ” The mechanism looks simple but there’s a lot of work behind it. And many rejected solutions.” He said.
